| The department was established during the inception of the institute. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate level in Electronics and Communication Engineering with broad emphasis on design aspects of electronic systems. This program aims at producing engineers with sound knowledge in electronics engineering and a strong background in communication engineering. The intake has also been raised from 60 to 90 students. The course contents for each semester have been analyzed in every aspect and have constantly been revised and upgraded in order to give the students a holistic and pragmatic view of the present scenario of the Electronics and Communication industry as well as a grounding in the concepts and theories that will shape the future of the industry. The major areas of faculty expertise of the department include Signal Processing, Communication Systems, Computer Networks, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Image Processing, Instrumentation, Multimedia, Power Electronics, Power Systems, Radar Signal Processing, RF and Microwaves, Microstrip Circuits and VLSI Systems.

The department is headed by Professor Amit Gupta with about one decade of experience. The department has dedicated faculty members and well equipped modern infrastructure. The result in the university examination has been excellent throughout. The department has sanctioned with 2 Associate Professors, 4 Assistant Professors, 2 Senior Lecturers and 2 Lecturers. Apart from teaching, the faculty members have been vigorously pursuing research and have been regularly publishing research papers in various National and International Journals of repute as well as in prestigious conferences. The faculty members of the department published more than twenty five papers in the journal and conference of national and international repute. Recently Prof. Amit Gupta, Vineet Vishnoi and Padam Singh Saini published one paper in International journal of Engineering Science and Technology, second paper in MNNIT Allahabad and third paper in NIT Jalandhar in the area of Microstrip Antenna, Some more work is still in the queue. Apart from the paper Prof. Amit Gupta also written a book on Switching Theory. One More book on Introduction to Electric Drives authored by Amit Gupta, Padam Singh and Sachin Sharma is in print and will be available soon.
The students have good opportunity to understand the technology through latest software like CAD, DSP, MATLAB etc. and enable them to be conscience and technologically skilled so as contribute towards socially, relevant and technical problems. The students are also provided with valuable inputs through Guest Lectures from the faculty other institutes including IITs and other esteemed Institutions and industrial tours. These Lectures are conducted on weekly basis so that student can have sufficient interaction with Guest Professors for their experienced guidance and inputs. Recently the students of department of ECE visited 3 industries viz. BHEL haridwar, Salora International, Noida and SAMTEL Industries Limited Ghaziabad. The department of ECE organized the model presentation in tech-fest of the institute and won prizes. The event is organized by Prof. Amit Gupta, Rehan Ahamed and Ruchi Gupta.
The department of Electronic and Communication Engineering has the following well-equipped Laboratories:
